I would like to take my boyfriend there while I’m in DC, and I also want to look over the menu online if possible. Thanks!

Due to the constant advancement of science and technology, new and new facts related to health and fitness is coming into the limelight. One of the recent and important facts is that nuts can aid in fat loss to a great extent. There are several clinical studies that have proven this fact and there are several studies that are still working on this aspect.
Research Proves that Nuts can lead to Weight Loss
One of the premier institutions, Harvard University has conducted several research based clinical studies that show that different types of nuts including peanuts can be part of a healthy diet and greatly help men and women in fat loss. In December 1999, a study was published in the Journal of Clinical Nutrition, which outlined the fact that diets consisting of high amount of monounsaturated fat in the form of peanuts or even peanut butter and olive oil has a far superior effect on fat loss vis-à-vis low-fat diets.
The classification of peanuts in the USDA Food Guide Pyramid is in the category of high protein diet. It has also been mentioned in the same category as fish, meat, poultry, eggs, and dry beans. The truth is that peanut is a plant-based protein and hence it doesn’t have any cholesterol unlike in animal-based proteins. In fact, peanuts contain a higher percentage of good un-saturated fats vis-à-vis saturated fats and hence they are shown at the bottom of Vegetarian and mediterranean food Guide Pyramids.
Another clinical test performed at Florida in March 2004 as a part of the The Ram Nut Diet™ program showed consistent and considerable fat loss benefits for the participants. Founder of the The Ram Nut Diet™, Leonard J. Ram is a M.D., of Florida Gastroenterology Specialists, P.A. He has documented the clinical results showing weight loss week after week. There were more than a dozen participants who were a part of the diet program for over 90 days and the average fat loss recorded each week was one pound. Most of the participants of the clinical program have lost an average of 17lbs-21lbs in about 4 weeks.
The Brigham and Women’s Hospital with assistance from the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) conducted a research on October 5, 2001. As a part of the research, one-half of the participants were made to eat a low fat diet while the other half were made to eat a moderately fat diet that included nuts. All the participants were provided specific guidelines and they had to consume approximately 1,200-1,500 calories. The participants consumed nuts in salads instead of croutons. Nuts consumed by participants included almonds, cashew nut, peanut, and walnut. At the end of the study, it was found that those who consumed nuts recorded consistent fat loss throughout the program period.
An Insight into Nuts
Nuts whether it is a peanut, walnut or almonds; they are considered to be a high source of fiber, protein, and certain essential oils. But in order to achieve fat loss and maintain a healthy diet, you should consume a handful of nuts. Twice a week is good enough because too much of nuts can also create problems.
Here is a note of caution: if you have any kind of allergy to any particular nut then it is always better to avoid eating any of them. You can always find other options for fat loss.
The best time to consume nuts is during a mid afternoon meal, or a small snack session between lunch and dinner.
Nuts are natural and tree products and some nuts like almonds, cashew nut and hazelnut, have a high quantity of magnesium. Apart from the fact that nuts can assist in fat loss, they also assist in taking care of future health problems. Some of the medical conditions that can be caused due to lack of magnesium include weak muscles, low energy levels, and fatigue. Most of the commonly available nuts are considered to be a good source for vitamin E, which is great for the skin like Brazil nuts.

If consuming salt is bad for your health, then why is it that processed food in the UK is much higher in salt than other European countries. Even the same brand of food is lower in salt in Spain than the UK. Would I be cynical in saying it has to do with competition and profit above the nations health.
No, you wouldn’t be cynical saying that because the food industry is out there to make a profit, and making food tastier with additives is a surefire way of making people buy it. On the other hand, it’s not their job to regulate the nation’s health.
Some will say the government should better regulate the food industry.
Others will declare that the behaviour of a “nanny state”, and say the onus is on the individual to be aware of what they’re buying and make sensible, healthy lifestyle decisions when planning their diets.
We have enough information to understand which foods are good for us, and which are bad if consumed to excess. Processed food has been a known poor alternative (loaded with salt, sugar and other additives) to fresh food for decades.
As for your claim that processed food in the UK contains more salt than processed food in other European countries, I’m afraid I can’t corroborate that anywhere. Neither with internet search engines nor closed newspapers databases (like Infotrac) at my library, so I’m afraid I can’t comment on that, but again, you’re absolutely right to say the amount of salt in food bears a direct correlation to the attractiveness of the product, and therefore maximised profits.
It’s not a cynical statement because it is fundamentally and transparently true.

Across the Soviet Union and eastern Europe during the socialist period, food emerged as a symbol of both the successes and failures of socialist ideals of progress, equality, and modernity. By the late 1980s, the arrival of McDonald’s behind the Iron Curtain epitomized the changes that swept across the socialist world. Not quite two decades later, the effects of these arrivals were evident in the …
Blood test and physical results. Potential problems?
I’m a 29 year old male, I try to exercise as often as I can, and I eat a basically vegetarian/mediterranean diet, i.e., I eat fish but I don’t eat meat/pork/chicken etc.. I consider myself pretty healthy except I like beer and wine, sometimes a little too much Nevertheless, I feel fine. So I just got these results back:
The Good:
Blood pressure is 120/80
Cholesterol is 139, total.
HDL is 70
LDL is 51
All other results of the panel are normal and within range.
The Bad:
White Blood Cell Count 3.7, low in the normal range of 4.0-10.5.
Glucose is 101, high when considered in the range of 65-99.
My doctor hasn’t contacted me with alarm at the results but it’s bothering me a bit. I want to be completely, without question, healthy! Is there anything to consider dangerous about the “bad” results? Anything I should be trying to change? Thanks for all input!

Here’s your second opinion. You have nothing to worry about with these essentially normal values you call “The Bad.” Your BP and lipids are excellent. Your WBC count is only slightly below the lab’s normal range but certainly acceptable as normal, especially with a normal WBC differential count of the types of WBCs. The glucose is normal, even if fasting, with a difference of 1 or 2 from the normal being truly normal. Don’t change a thing. Keep up your present healthy ways. If you wish, get another CBC in about a year or two. Stay well!

Bathroom Tiles Design Ideas: Spice Up Your Bathroom Moroccan Style
When selecting the right flooring for a bathroom, there\’s more to keep in mind than personal style. Some very specific factors come into play: Is your flooring, for instance, impervious to water? Moroccan tiles also know as Zillij tiles or Moorish tiles are organically handmade and hand glazed clay tiles originated from the city of Fez, Morocco back in the eleventh century and were used to decorate floors and walls of the sultans & the nobles castles and palaces bathhouses, courtyards, fountains, and much more. There are two types of Moroccan tiles, the first type is the Moroccan field tile and the other type is the Moroccan mosaics also called Zillij mosaics. Moroccan tiles are available in several colors and hues and the most common colors are red, yellow, green, cobalt blue, white, brown, and tan.
Moroccan field tiles are available in several shapes, sizes, and colors and the most common shapes of Moroccan field tiles are 4” x 4” x 3/8” square, 2” x 6” x ¾” rectangular bricks know as Bejmat tiles, 4” x 4” x 3/8” hexagon, and 4” x 4” x 3/8” octagonal. By being glazed tiles, Moroccan tiles are very low maintenance and easy to clean and do not require to be sealed like natural stone tiles or unglazed terracotta tiles, or the encaustic cement tiles. The other type of Moroccan tiles is the Moroccan mosaic tile also known as Zillij mosaic or Zellige tiles are available in endless geometric as well as floral patterns. The art of Zillij is essentially a Moroccan art form. Although its roots are in the universal language of two-dimensional mathematics, which can be traced to the Levant, Egypt, and the Roman mosaics of Volubilis (the Moroccan Roman city), it has all the characteristics of a unique art form.
Forget about the fancy marble, glass tiles, porcelain and tony stone. If it\’s the hottest look in bathrooms you\’re after, go for the Moroccan tiles.
