Hi everyone…Im moving to Chc nz from southern Italy.I would like to know how different the climate will be there from the typical mediterranean weather.Im used to very hot , long and dry summers and i love swimming in the sea…winter are sometimes not existing with average teps of 15/16c .Hows the people hopefully as friendly as the latin!!!Oh and the food?Sorry about my english thanks for helping !
Don’t fall for Frantic’s hype. My husband is a Kiwi, I moved there in ‘89 and just loved it. I missed my family but that was the only drawback. We live in NJ in the USA now and I would say summers in NZ were almost as hot and winters almost as cold. They had one snowstorm when I lived there, about 4-6 inches, in 1992 and it was such a big deal they made a book about it. The people I met were all super-friendly, I was hired at one store because they liked my accent, lol. I kept in touch with some friends for years after we left and I adore his family almost as much as my own. The food was not very exciting when I was there, but that may have changed by now. They have a lovely beach there, too. I hope you enjoy it, I can’t wait till we can offord to go back.
